Overview
Some health centers receive grant support designated for the federal Public Housing Primary Care (PHPC) program, a special population designation. The mission of the PHPC Program is to provide residents of public housing with increased access to comprehensive primary health care services through the direct provision of health promotion and disease prevention activities and primary health care services.
Resources for Health Centers Serving Residents of Public Housing
NACHC supports PHPC health centers at both the program and policy levels. Specifically, NACHC has a Health Care in Public Housing Task Force, which is composed of 20 NACHC members who represent health centers that serve residents of public housing. The Task Force advises NACHC’s Board of Directors and staff on issues related to providing care to this population. The Task Force serves as a forum to strengthen collaboration among NACHC membership and other organizations that serve residents of public housing.
