This initiative was designed to answer the question: How might we use telehealth with people who are unhoused or live in rural areas to slow the spread of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), HIV, and Hepatitis C (Hep C), and avoid costly emergency care? With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NACHC led an effort to use Human Centered Design (HCD) principles to answer this question.Lessons learned through case studies with three health centers in three states helped us gather information on successful ways health centers can deploy telehealth for a wide range of care including screening, prevention, and management for HIV, Hep C, and STIs to reach people who are primarily unhoused.
