This webinar hosted by the National Association of Community Health Centers, Prevent Blindness, and the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved, takes a deeper dive into the feasibility of opening an optometry department within a community health center. You’ll learn about what it takes to create an optical, budgeting, best practices for hiring and staffing, and how your peers have overcome challenges in starting up vision services in their own health centers.
Learning objectives:
1. Raise awareness of the feasibility of opening an optometry department within CHCs; creation of an optical; and hiring/staffing needs
2. Build skills in operationalizing the integration of vision services into health centers; and
3. Learn from peers how to overcome challenges in the process of integrating vision services into health centers.
