On behalf of America’s Community Health Centers (CHCs), which serve 1 in 10 or over 32.5 million people nationwide, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) looks forward to working with newly appointed U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
“America’s Community Health Centers share this Administration’s goal to Make America Healthy in all communities across the country; with the support of this Administration and the new Congress, we look forward to expanding our cost-saving and life-saving model of local, comprehensive primary care to make this goal a reality,” said Dr. Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, NACHC President and CEO.
CHCs have a proven track record of reducing overall healthcare costs, decreasing the impact of chronic diseases, and eliminating costly hospitalizations and unnecessary emergency room visits. Our mission extends beyond the exam room to address the fundamental drivers of health, such as healthy eating and active living. We are committed to working with Secretary Kennedy and the Trump Administration to expand our 60-year model of affordable, effective primary care across rural and urban communities to make a healthier America.
The Kennedy family shares a meaningful connection to the CHC mission. The late Senator Edward Kennedy was an early and passionate champion of CHCs and our innovative approach to delivering cost-effective, high-quality preventive and primary care. We look forward to building upon this legacy to strengthen our pivotal role in America’s health system.
