Join us to Advocate for Community Health Centers!
At NACHC, we’re passionate about the power of advocacy to transform healthcare access in America. Our vision is ambitious yet achievable: to position Community Health Centers (CHCs) as the employer, provider and partner of choice and expand access to care to one in 3 people across America.
Our dedicated Grassroots Advocacy team works hand-in-hand with CHCs, Primary Care Associations (PCAs), Health Center Controlled Networks (HCCNS), and partners at every level – from local communities to our nation’s capital in Washington, D.C.
Advocacy is essential to helping CHCs expand their reach and provide life-changing primary care and preventive care to rural, urban, suburban and frontier communities.
When elected officials and policymakers hear directly from their constituents about the vital role CHCs play in their neighborhoods – from providing quality and comprehensive primary care to creating local jobs – it makes a real difference. These personal stories and connections drive positive change in healthcare policy and funding.
Stay informed and take action!
National Health Center Week
National Health Center Week is celebrated each year in August with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers. For information about events, sponsorship, and more, visit NACHC’s National Health Center Week website
Advocacy Leadership Program
The Grassroots Advocacy Leadership Program (ALP) is a virtual skill-building program that provides training, resources/tools, and hands-on experience to emerging leaders as they build advocacy engagement within their health centers and communities. NACHC hosts two four-month ALP cohorts each year (spring and fall).
Advocacy Centers of Excellence
An Advocacy Center of Excellence (ACE) is recognized for creating a culture of advocacy to ensure policymakers at all levels of government commit to supporting the affordable, equitable, and innovative care that health centers provide. There are three ACE designations—bronze, silver, and gold—that distinguish tiered levels of consistent engagement and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to making advocacy an organizational priority. There is a checklist of items a Health Center must complete to become an ACE and designation is valid for two years. NACHC has established a separate ACE recognition program for PCAs and HCCNs.
Grassroots Advocacy Awards
Since 2004, NACHC has recognized advocates that have gone above and beyond to create a culture of advocacy within their organization.
