NACHC periodically honors those who have contributed to the advancement of Community Health Centers.
Nominations are due Friday, April 11, 2025, for the following awards that will be presented at the 2025 Community Health Institute (CHI) and EXPO in Chicago, August 17-19. Self-nominations are accepted. Nominations require the contact information of two supporting nominators.
For overall excellence and longstanding dedication to the movement:
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Recognizes individuals who, through at least 25 years of service, have made lasting contributions to strengthening the community health center movement with their vision, dedication, and commitment to health equity.
- John Gilbert Award recognizing excellence: Presented to someone who, as a member of either the board or staff of a health center, has demonstrated excellence in the community health care field.
For contributions to clinical practice, health center development, migrant/farmworker health, or education and training:
- Samuel U. Rodgers Achievement Award recognizing excellence in clinical practice and leadership: Presented to a distinguished primary care clinician who exemplifies excellence in clinical practice and leadership at the local, state, or national level.
- Ethel Bond Memorial Consumer Award recognizing contributions to health center development: Presented to an outstanding individual who has both been actively involved in the development of a health center and has shown dedication to our movement.
- Louis S. Garcia Community/Migrant Health Services Award recognizing contributions in the area of migrant worker and farmworker health: Presented to individuals for exceptional primary health care management and service in the migrant/farm worker health field.
- Health Professions Education and Training Award recognizing contributions in education and training: Presented to individuals whose initiatives have developed and enhanced education and training programs for health professionals at community-based health centers. Examples of such activities include mentoring young community members interested in health professional careers, the development of health center training programs for students and residents, and the development of collaborative training models with residency programs.
For contributions as a senior financial professional or Primary Care Association staff member:
- Jeffery T. Latman Leadership in Health Care Finance Award recognizing contributions from a senior finance professional within the health center movement: Presented to an individual who serves in a senior level finance position and whose work best exemplifies excellence, leadership, and integrity in strengthening health center fiscal operations.
- Norton Wilson State/Regional Leadership Award recognizing contributions from a PCA staff member: Presented to an outstanding staff member of a NACHC-chartered Primary Care Association who exemplifies leadership excellence.
