NACHC proudly announces its annual webinar series for Health Center leaders and staff preparing for their HRSA Operational Site Visit (OSV). This 3-part webinar series features the perspectives of three independent OSV reviewers with years of experience performing HRSA OSVs. Each faculty member – a current fiscal, governance, and clinical reviewer - will provide practical tips and promising practices for ensuring a successful OSV and for achieving and maintaining a state of continuous compliance.  

This webinar series provides:  

• An overview of HRSA’s Health Center Program Compliance Program, and each chapter of the Health Center Program Compliance Manual and HRSA’s Site Visit Protocol 
• Potential pain points and common areas of conditions/findings 
• Strategies for preparing your board and Health Center and steps that your Health Center can take to ensure continuous compliance.

Webinar 1 on July 16, 2024: Overview of HRSA’s Compliance Program + Governance Program Requirements 

This webinar will provide an overview of the pre-planning process for operational site visits (OSVs) and share strategic tips and insights into having a successful OSV while moving toward continual compliance. This webinar will highlight how compliance is assessed via the Site Visit Protocol and identify key pain points and areas where Health Centers often face challenges.

This webinar will also highlight the Governance chapters of the Compliance matters. Strategies and tips for preparing the Board of Directors and organizing materials and documents for the OSV will also be reviewed. Representatives of your Board are encouraged to participate in this session.

Webinar 2 on July 17, 2024: Overview of Fiscal Program Requirements 

This webinar will provide an in-depth overview of the financial program requirements, how compliance is assessed via the Site Visit Protocol, and common pain points and areas where health centers often face challenges.  

Webinar 3 on July 18, 2024: Overview of Clinical Program Requirements + Best Practices for Continuous Compliance 

This webinar will provide an in-depth overview of the clinical program requirements, promising practices, and the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deeming requirements. Faculty will also highlight key strategies for building a system and culture of continuous compliance.   

Audience

This webinar series is aimed at Health Center operational staff involved with preparing for the OSV. This includes compliance officers, practice/site administrators, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CMOs, board members, and other staff involved with OSV preparation.

Faculty

Renee Filson is currently serving as Chief Financial Officer of a health center in Hawaii. Renee is the Principal of Fiscal Solutions, LLC with over 20 years’ experience working as a Chief Financial Officer for 330-funded and Look-Alike Health Centers. Early in her career, she was a Chief Financial Officer of a FQHC in her hometown of Erie, PA which filed for bankruptcy 5 months prior to Renee joining their team. During her time as CFO, Renee also oversaw operations, human resources, the healthcare for the homeless program, the Ryan White Part C program and their 340B program. Renee is also contracted with Management Strategists Consulting Group, where she has been performing Operational Site Visits and providing Compliance Manual technical assistance to FQHCs and LALs for the past nine years. 

Jennifer Genua-McDaniel is the founder and CEO of Genua Consulting, LLC. In 2005, Jennifer immigrated from Canada to the United States to work in a Community Health Center. With 18 years of experience, including 8 years as a CEO, she brings extensive expertise in operations and governance. Jennifer collaborates closely with the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC), participating as a reviewer for operational site visits and providing training and technical support to various models of community health centers and primary care associations.   

Kyle Vath, BSN, MHA, RN is the CEO and co-founder of RegLantern, a company that provides tools and services to health centers that help them move toward continual compliance. Kyle has served in a wide range of healthcare settings including serving as the Director of Operations for Social Ministries for a large health system, Provider Relations for a health system-owned payer, the Clinical Quality Director and then Director of Operations for a Federally-Qualified Health Center, long-term care (as a nursing manager, director of nursing, and licensed nursing home administrator), in acute care (as a critical care nurse), and in Tanzania, East Africa as a hospital administrator of a rural mission hospital. Kyle is an independent contractor providing HRSA Site Surveys for FQHCs around the United States. Kyle speaks around the country on various topics including Mission-Minded Care, Value-Based Payment, Population Health Management, Patient-Centered Medical Home models of care, Climate Change, Healthcare, & Health Disparities, and HRSA Program Requirements. Kyle is a Cincinnati, Ohio-native and received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Harding University and his Master of Health Administration degree from Ohio University.  

Ted Henson is the Director of Health Center Growth & Development at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). In his role, Ted focuses on building and strengthening the health center pipeline through the development and support of Look-Alike Health Centers and 330-Funded New Access Point health centers. His portfolio also covers Health Center Needs Assessments, Health Center Program Compliance, Health Center Enabling Services, and the Health Care for the Homeless Program. Prior to NACHC, Ted worked as a Community Health Needs Assessment consultant for a large hospital system in Rhode Island. Ted led the development of a statewide community health needs assessment involving stakeholders in local/state government, community-based organizations, and health care providers. 

Ted earned a Masters of Science from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2012 in Health Policy and Management.
