2024 Extreme Heat Webinar Series

Overview:

Join NACHC and MCN in our four-part webinar series as we speak to health center representatives and experts from the CDC, Office of Climate Change and Health Equity, Emory University, MCN, and NACHC to better understand the ways in which heat and a changing climate are impacting our communities' health. Sessions will be available in both English and Spanish!

Sessions By Date and Topic Include:

  • Session 1 (March 13)- Heat and Health Equity
  • Session 2 (April 10)- Heat and Resilient Infrastructure
  • Session 3 (May 8)- Heat and Chronic Conditions
  • Session 4 (June 12)- Heat and Mental Health

Target Audience:

Community Health Centers (Clinical, Community-Facing, and Operations/Admin Staff), Safety Net Providers

Population focus:

Migrant/immigrant communities, pregnant people, and children with chronic conditions

Curriculum Components:

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the webinar series, participants will be able to:

  • Assess physical and mental health risks due to extreme heat and climate change
  • Identify populations that will be inequitably impacted by extreme heat, including children, pregnant people, and immigrant/migrant workers
  • Identify clinical and operational practices to strengthen health center infrastructure and protect patient populations from extreme heat
