Spotlight on the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and the New England College of Optometry Partnership
This case study highlights the partnership components of the 50-year workforce pipeline program between a state Primary Care Association, a school of Optometry and local health centers. It also illustrates the importance of optometrists in a health center who serve as the “primary care providers of the eye”. The critical elements of an optometry workforce pipeline program are described for others to consider replicating in their state.
