The Uniform Data System (UDS) is an annual reporting system used by all federally-funded health centers to report data on utilization, patient demographics, insurance status, managed care, prenatal care and birth outcomes, diagnoses, and financing. UDS assists with program management, policy development and overall accounting for the programs. It is maintained by the Bureau of Primary Health Care Office of Data, Evaluation, Analysis and Research, but is also available at NACHC.

NACHC 2000 REACH Data
NACHC’s REACH data is a county level database comprising demographic information as well as estimates of underserved and unserved. Demographic data utilizes Census 2000 and pooled 2000-2002 Current Population Survey data to estimate the number of persons by poverty level, age, gender, race, and primary source of health insurance for each county.The demographic data allows for “crosstabing.” Unserved counts are based on Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) designations, and underserved counts are based on Medically Underserved Area (MUA) status.
