Announcing the July National Community Health Advocate of the Month, Peggi Cella! Peggi has been an Executive Assistant and health center advocate with Neighborhood Family Practice (NHP) in Cleveland, Ohio for nearly 12 years. During her tenure with NHP Peggi has actively followed legislative issues affecting health centers and recruited others to join her in voicing health center issues with elected officials. Peggi has made it her mission to help others learn how to make a difference through advocacy. Kicking her advocacy efforts into overdrive, Peggi recently helped coordinate patients at NHP who do not have health insurance into a new group called We Are The Uninsured. The group’s mission is to bring the voices of the uninsured together to bring about positive change through educating the community and policymakers. Cella has also been hard at work coordinating voter registration efforts at NHP, an effort partnered with actively recruiting new health center advocates to sign up for Ohio’s advocacy network. To date, her coordinated efforts have registered over 400 health center patients to vote. Congratulations to our July National Community Health Advocate of the Month - Go Peggi!
